Shreiner surprises McM, 3-1

KERRVILLE, Texas – After losing the first set, Schreiner University bounced back and won the next three sets to upset McMurry in an American Southwest Conference West Division volleyball match Saturday.
 
The 3-1 win (24-26, 25-14, 25-23, 25-18) moves Schreiner to 6-8 on the year and 3-3 in ASC West play; meanwhile, McMurry falls to 9-4 and 3-2. McMurry will look to end its current two-match losing streak on Thursday, Oct. 2, when they host Sul Ross State for another ASC West contest.
 
Despite the loss, McMurry junior middle blocker Terah Brown finished with a match-high 11 kills. Brown also added nine digs and 5.5 total blocks (four solo blocks and three block assists). Junior setter Kendall Jackson led McMurry in assists with 24, and sophomore libero Sarah Anding had a match-high 19 digs.
